Executive Summary :

This pilot project proposes to purchase Corona Images (taken by Corona spy-satellite in the 1960?s, now de-classified and provided to the public by the US Geological Survey) covering a ca. 500km long reach of the Ganga River. An innovative combination of computer vision and remote sensing methods will be developed to complete the complex processing required to make accurate digital maps from these images. The deliverables out of this project will be an archive of corrected historic images of the Ganga River for documenting the reference condition of Ganga River.
